Quick question: What is annoying you most in your life right now?
How/Why is it annoying you?
Are you losing sleep, getting run-down, anxious, agitated, frustrated, confused?
Next Question: What can you control about this annoying situation?
Can you make different choices, set better boundaries, or level-up to solve it?
Or...is the annoyance coming from the fact that you are trying to control something that is out of your control?
Are you basically trying to heard cats????🤔
Maybe, just maybe...it is time to learn how to let go of things that are out of your control.
Who else out there has lived most of their life as a control freak?
Do you feel like you should be able to solve, fix, or control just about anything...as long as you try hard enough?
Somewhere, somehow in our culture...
We started to believe that anything was controllable if we tried had enough. You can see how enticing this sounds upfront. What!?! I can work my tail off...and if I work hard enough...this will help me avoid pain, discomfort, and the unknown? SWEET! Sign me up!
Unfortunately...the Magic Fairy forgot to tell us that there would be side effects and consequences to this enticing concept of control.
7 Side Effects of Trying to Be a Control Freak:
Increased Stress
Decreased Health
A Disconnect From the Present
A False Sense of Hope/Faith
A Greater Chance of Big Crash
Decrease of Peace
Annoying/Enabling Others
The Great "Unlearning"
Our beautiful, compassionate, loving spirit enters this planet on our day of birth. Then - something crazy happens...social conditioning. It is said that by the time we are age 3-5 - our spirit has already unlearned a portion of our most important gifts that unite us all (compassion & love). We are now on the social conditioning train. "Nope! Don't say that!" "Nope! Don't do that!" "Nope! Don't show emotion...heck!, don't even feel emotion."
Money & Power
If you haven't noticed yet...money & power are what currently run our world and the people with money & power want us to be as "checked out" as possible - so they keep all of the money & power. The biggest method they use to keep us in this state is to convince/trick us into moving away from a state of love and compassion and more into a state of fear.
The Big Trick
Here is the sneakiest part of the trick...we have all been raised into this fear state through our social conditioning. Lack of knowledge and compassion also contribute to this state.
We have been taught to believe some VERY unfortunate (& untrue) things, such as:
Some people are considered better than others because of ridiculous things like: color of skin, cultural heritage/race, gender, sexual orientation, income level, etc.
We have to be fearful throughout this life and protect our money & power with hate and violence.
People must have the same beliefs as us to be worthy in our lives and if we have different beliefs as someone else, we should look down on them or separate ourselves from them.
These are just a handful of ways we've been tricked/duped.👎
Disclaimer - These (& other) tricks are what has caused us to become more fearful and protecting of what is ours...and this is what has led us to have I high desire to try and control everything!
Time for a NEW "Unlearning"
It is time for us to now wake up and get our head out of the controlling haze that it has been in - and to return to what our beautiful spirit brought to this lifetime...Love & Compassion!
Ticket to Peace
This "Return to Love" is our ticket to Peace. We can't expect the Government, the Media, or the CEOs of Big Business to start the transition for us...as those entities are all too tied with the Money & Power that got us in this predicament.
We must chose to be the light and love that starts this "underground movement."
How????....you ask...
Here are just a few ways:
Make a Daily Choice to Be Light, Love, & Compassion
Speak Up & Speak Your Truth
Set Boundaries to Those People & Situations that Call for You to Be in a Fear State
Be the Example of Compassion & Give Back to Others
Have Gratitude
Start & End Your Day w/a Peaceful Routine
Love Yourself First
Looping Back Around....Focus on What You Can Control & Let Go of What You Can't
Okay, let's be honest...there is actually very little we CAN control.
We can only truly control ourselves; Our choices, our behaviors, our decisions, what we choose to put our focus on, and MOST IMPORTANTLY our love, light, compassion, & gratitude.
I know it may almost seem too small or simple...
But what if you could practice just those 4 things, several times a day? Practice them so often that they become easier to radiate and return to - even in your tough moments.
Do you think that this practice would cut down on the "annoyance" in your life? Earn you more peace? Allow you to let go of things/people/situations out of your control - more easily?
